Findings and diagnosis – Amongst many findings in this case, a left ventricular apical aneurysm is evident on the arterial phase images. There is a large pericardial effusion which is relatively hyperdense, though less dense than the blood in the ventricles and atria. Intermittent bleeding from this aneurysm is not excluded.
